Hekurudha Shqiptare (HSH) is the Albanian railway system. The country's main terminal is located in Durrës. Operational lines include Durrës–Peqin, Shkozet–Tirana, Peqin–Elbasan, Vorë–Laç, Rrogozhinë–Fier, Elbasan–Librazhd, Librazhd–Prrenjas, Fier–Ballsh, Prrenjas–Gur i Kuq, Laç–Lezhë, Lezhë–Shkodër, Shkodër–Han i Hotit, Rrogozhinë–Fier–Vlorë, and Milot–Rrëshen–Klos. The HSH infrastructure extends eastward to Pogradec, southward to Vlorë, and northward to Shkodër. There is also a line serving the capital, Tirana. Tracks were extended into Montenegro via the Han i Hotit border crossing in the 1980s for freight transport. To this day, there are no international passenger rail connections in Albania. The trains are in poor physical condition. The HSH network is built to the same standard as the European system, utilizing standard gauge track, and spans a total length of 447 km.
